Warm & zesty

Adds a warm, zesty kick to curries, marinades, chai and soups.
Traditionally used in home kitchens to comfort the stomach and in warm drinks on colder days.
Contains gingerol, the natural compound behind ginger's warmth.

Garlic

Bold & savoury

Gives dishes the deep, savoury base that most Indian recipes start with.
Releases allicin, the compound behind its signature aroma, when crushed or ground.
Traditionally valued in everyday home cooking for general wellness.

Kitchen tips

TIPS

Cook the paste first. Sauté it in oil on medium heat for a minute or two, until the raw smell fades, then add onions or tomatoes.
Keep the heat moderate. Garlic turns bitter if it browns too dark, so lower the flame before adding the paste.
Marinate ahead. Mix the paste with yoghurt or lemon juice and spices, and rest for about 30 minutes before cooking.
Use it straight from the pack. No peeling, chopping or grinding needed. Spoon the paste directly into gravies, dals, soups and stir-fries.
Start small, then adjust. The paste is ready to use and full of flavour, so begin with a spoonful and add more to taste.
Store with care. Use a clean, dry spoon, close the pack tightly and store as directed on the label.

We started Rasiva to bring fresh, honest ginger and garlic pastes into everyday kitchens, with no shortcuts and no fillers, just what we'd want to cook with ourselves.
